Stoke UTA Taekwondo Poomsae team kept up its winning streak this weekend at the 1st Manchester Open Championships held at the George H Carnell Centre ! A five strong team bought back six golds two silvers and two bronzes in one of the best results for the team . On the back of a series of competitions throughout September , taking golds in Scotland , Liverpool and Canada this was a Super September for the Team ! Coach Master Peter Johnson was delighted and said it was all down to hard work extra training and commitment from our team players , Stoke UTA being the most successful technical and competitive club in the midlands and this shows by our results and team standings .
Master Peter Johnson travelled to Vancouver Canada to try to retain his Title that he has held for two years running with a high Score of 6.89 he took Gold in his Division and as a part of Super September this is the third Gold along with his team , competing at the Scottish Open , Liverpool Open and Canada , with just the Manchester Open to complete this would seal a Super September for Johnson and his Team !
Stoke UTA Taekwondo took a three strong team to the Scottish open at the weekend at motherwell ! Pairs partners Gerlinder and Master Johnson competed first and too a fantastic bronze in a seven strong field , Master Johnson took gold in the U65 male individual and Gerlinder took silver in her division , Wayne Nicklin took a great Bronze medal in a big category , so all three p layers took podium places another great result for Stoke UTA , our special Poomsae training is paying off and we will be fielding a bigger team in Liverpool soon !
Master Peter Johnson travelled to Zagreb Croatia to participate in the WTs IRRC Referee course ! Master Johnson is already a International referee , but he attended the Refresher Course over four days of study and training ! This will help to keep our club updated with the latest techniques and information ! The course included study , practical , scoring , with a written test , scoring test , practical performance test and Interview !
Stoke UTA took a team of six players to the Bluewave Championships Basingstoke London at the weekend ! With over four hundred competitors , the team took four golds and five silvers in both Individual , pair and team sections ! Coach and competitor Master Peter Johnson 7th Dan was pleased with this result and was happy with all his players performances !
Good luck to a seven strong team from Stoke UTA Team this weekend at Blue wave in Basingstoke this weekend ! All players are national medallists but we don’t take anything for granted , we have been training hard and completing special sessions to ensure we do the best we can on the day ! this is a large competition with well over 400 players so good luck to our team this weekend !
